Observing Time

The process of observing and being aware of my surroundings led me to notice all of my senses more. Touch, especially, and sound, and sight were the most prevalent. There weren't many smells- sometimes just a faint scent of grass, or of dirt, or rock. In choosing to pay attention, I was suffering a lot more in the heat in my black t-shirt than I might have without that awareness. When I closed my eyes, I enjoyed hearing the trees and the plants move underneath all the man-made sounds. The occasional breeze on my face, with eyes closed, was all the better.
